Concurrent Enrollment (CE) provides high school students with the opportunity to enroll in postsecondary (college-level) courses and earn both high school and college credits with no tuition costs (excluding course fees and materials). Depending on availability and in accordance with District policy, students may apply to take concurrent enrollment classes in their high school or on a college campus. Concurrent enrollment also includes postsecondary Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses, enabling students to earn credit that can be applied towards an industry certification.
Concurrent enrollment courses are taught at each comprehensive high school by Douglas County School District teachers who have been approved as adjunct professors by an accredited institution of higher learning.
Students interested in applying for CE courses are required to meet with their high school Counselor to discuss CE course information and requirements, and to complete the District CE Application process.
